Procurement Contract from RFQ

This is on the ability to generate a procurement contract from RFQ

What we have observed is that the creation of the base contract (while the negotiation is initially created) is mandatory for generating the supplier specific contract when the award is approved and finalized. We tested by NOT creating a base contract at the beginning and the create contract button doesn't appear during the awarding stage.

So is this a mandatory step to create a base contract in order to generate supplier specific contract based on the award details?


with the current functionality, for every RFQ - there are two contracts created - one is a base contract and the other is the actual supplier specific contract. There is absolutely no benefit at all with the base contract as it just stays in the contracts workspace without any downstream activities to follow. It adds additional burden on the contract admins as they need to periodically cleanse such unwanted base contracts.
