HR Digital Assistant Testing Limitation

edited Aug 31, 2021 8:59AM in Digital Assistant 2 comments

Summary

It isn't possible to test a digital assistant unless the skills are published

Content

When developing the digital assistant and the skills it is necessary to test each skill thoroughly and then to test the digital assistant to ensure it works effectively will all skills assigned. The way the solution is built this is a problem. To attach a skill to the DA, the skill has to be published and once published it isn't possible to amend it, the only way of adjusting the skill is to extend it and create another version.

When the skills are tested in isolation this isn't an issue as the skills can be tested without being published so any errors in the skill can be corrected before it is published and attached to the DA. Issue lies when you test the DA itself because if there is an error in one of the skills or intents they cannot easily be corrected and a whole new skill has to be created to make the change.
