Summary

BI Publisher Schedulers are not sending emails. Status is showing 1002 error code with document creation successful

Hello Experts,

We are facing a critical issue in BI Publisher (OAC 6.1 OCI-Gen2).  While scheduling the BIP report it throws an error whereas it works fine with DV/Classic reports.

Status is showing Problem - 1002 Error code with document creation successful.

Anybody has faced the above issue?  Any suggestions/pointers?

    Email configuration from DV and BIP are done separately. You need to setup SMTP configuration from Classic Home -> Administration -> Manage Publisher -> Delivery -> Email

    After SMTP server configuration please test the connection and it should be working fine.

    The issue is fixed after changing the DNS entry.  Issue occurred because of a bug in OAC platform.  Whenever any keywords like oraclecloud, OCI etc in SMTP server FQDN then BIP requires STARTTL security and certificate.  Customer's SMTP was managing security and does not have any certificate or security thus this issue arose.
