Supplier Profile Management using Supplier Type Data Attribute

Summary:

I would like to know if there is a way to drive data security based on the supplier type data attribute on a supplier record? For example, we have a Direct and Indirect procurement team. We would like to prevent the users on the Direct team from being able to view/edit the supplier data the Indirect team is responsible for managing. Has anyone had a similar requirement?
