What are the biggest challenges and areas to think of when a new business dimension is added to an already used application?

Content (required):

We have a well established PCMCS cube with 6 business dimensions. Business came with a new requirement recently and for that we need to add a 7th business dimension. What are the biggest challenges of adding a new dimension?

a) Do we need to reload past data (we have data for FY2020 and FY2021 so far but for 3 diferent scenarios) for every single POV to populate intersect value of the balances for the new dimension?

b) Do we need to maintain all the rules we have for every single POV we have used so far? Business is doing a lot of restates unfortunately so the old POVs are still in Draft status.
