Accounting Sequence is not create for GL Journals

Summary:

I have enabled document sequencing ( Accounting Sequence) in GL for 'Manual' journal entries by following the below steps

  1. Enabled document sequencing in Specify Ledger options
  2. Manage Accounting and Reporting Sequences : Using this task defined sequence and assigned this to ledger for accounting sequence

When i created a journal manually or through spreadsheet, no sequence was generated. Need to know the reason for the same.

Please refer screenshot of setup , should start date of Sequence and and sequence assignment should be same . The journal data am creating is "2021-04-07' Falls within the range

also should Require Assignment for All Journals option at the header of the Sequencing assignment page be enabled ?
