Capture the user's operating system within an interview

Hi all, I have a need to capture the user's operating system and use it as criteria in the rules to display specific information. We have OS detection on our portal but wondering if there is a way to do the detection within the interview. Alternately, I could customize with code to read the value of the detected OS. I am not that familiar with the customization piece though
