OKE or Oracle Functions which Architecture is better?

edited Feb 18, 2022 7:29PM in OCI - General 3 comments

Hi Everyone,

We are in process of modernization for VM-based Springboot microservices. We have created the Docker images for the microservices.

As both are supporting deploying Docker images, we have two choices so far:

(1) either to architect for OKE --> Kubernetes-based Solution Architecture

(2) or to architect for Oracle Functions --> Serverless Architecture

What are the PROS and CONS for each choice?

For example, one of the limitations is that the region supports having only 3 OKE clusters

Any valuable contributions will be appreciated

Kind regards

Mahmoud
