Difference between primary assignment flag and primary flag in per_all_assignments_m table

Hi ,

Can anybody let me know what is the difference between primary assignment flag and primary flag in per_all_assignments_m table. How these two columns behave in the case of multiple and single assignment.

And also what is the significance of primary flag which is present under assignment details and work relationship respectively.
