Error Activating Subscription - Related to Payment Terms

I created a subscription with a product and followed all instructions as per the implementation guide. However, when I try to activate the subscription I get an error "You must enter payment terms for the subscription".

This error comes up although I set the value for the payment terms on the subscription profile. In addition, I also tried updating the product level "Payment Term" using the Action Menu >>> update products.
