How to check if the compensation element has been paid to the employee?

Summary:

There is a compensation element PDR Awards which has the value in the field (4000$). We want to check whether it has been paid to the employees already or not.

There is a compensation element PDR One off payment which has the value in the field (4000). We want to check whether it has been paid to the employees already or not.

As I am new to the Compensation module can you please guide me how to check if the employee is paid(4000) or not? And also can you let me know how to check how value is populated as there was no manual intervention.(is it based on an input value?)
