Can rules be written based on Item Sequence?

Summary: We have Item Sequence in Item Structure in PIM. Can we use it to write rule in Configurator Model?

Content (required): We have a requirement where the Configurator Model should default the item at the last of the item sequences.

Eg. Model ABC has below structure

Whenever Item ABC (Model) is selected we want to default ABC(RVL3) item which is at the last item sequence. Whenever a new Item ABC (RVL4) gets added at sequence 40, that should get defaulted (since it will be the last item sequence then).

Is there a way to achieve it?
