How to edit unfrozen automated journal entries?

The Oracle Help Center says you can prevent edits to journal entries by freezing the journal source (https://docs.oracle.com/en/cloud/saas/financials/22b/faugl/how-can-i-prevent-edits-to-journal-entries-created-from-journal.html). I understand the purpose of the freeze journal setting but how would one actually go about editing an unfrozen automated subledger journal entry? For example, are these journals available to be edited through the Manage Journals screen for a short time period before they are autoposted to the GL?
