How to default costing at Element Entry level cost hierarch for an absence element?

edited Apr 29, 2022 7:41PM in Payroll and Global Payroll Interface (GPI) 5 comments

We have three segments for costing: Company, Cost Center, Natural. We obtain the Company segment at the person cost level. We get the Natural from the Element. Most of the time the Cost Center is obtained from department cost level.

I have several absence plans and absence elements for those plans. Current, method of costing is fixed at 101.00000.22229. What we want is 203.00000.22229.

I can't use Fixed because I will get exactly 203.00000.22229 which is wrong. I can't use Costed becuase then i would get 203.41200.22229 which is wrong due to how costed costs via the costing hierarchy.

So since absence elements are not entered into Element Entry and to the best of my knowledge can't be(nor would we want too) how can I make the Element Entry costing level occur for an absence for the Cost Center segment always be 00000? I would change the element eligibility to have nothing for the company & cost center segments.

Howdy, Stranger!
