Linux Kernel panic on VM.Standard.E2.1.Micro

edited Jun 13, 2022 2:09PM in OCI - General

Summary:

On my VM.Standard.E2.1.Micro instance, I have noticed that it needed to be rebooted at least every other week due to strange issues. This has finally culminated with the linux VM no longer booting due to it getting caught in an opcode kernel panic. The opcode kernel panic trace in the serial cloud console suggests that it is either a hardware failure within the bare metal or a misconfiguration of the hypervisor. I'm not sure how to proceed from here.

No changes or updates have occurred to the VM prior to it reaching this state.

Kernel Trace Log:

Howdy, Stranger!
