OCI hypervisor awareness of the VM-Generation ID

Summary:

Content (required): we need to know if OCI hypervisor is aware of the VM-Generation ID, as other hypervisors do

Hello

I have a question about OCI compute instances.

Let's talk about Generation ID and Windows domain controllers.

It is necessary to find out / know which cloud side operations (restore snapshot, etc.) change the generation ID of a VM.

The generation ID is a number that the hypervisors (certainly Hyper-v and vmware) change when some operations are performed on the vm, such as import export, restore snapshot, etc.

The problem arises in the Domain Controller windows, which are able to see when this number CHANGES and fundamentally realize that they have been "changed" (restored or otherwise) and do not start the Active Directory. It is therefore essential to understand if OCI honors this parameter and which operations on the VMs change it and which ones leave it the same.

Howdy, Stranger!
