Can we create chart with increasing time interval even if we sort table in descending way?

I would like to see chart X-axis increasing Time interval even if the data table is sorted in any manner. So, to quickly understand, you can create a report on your side to see the incident count for different Time intervals (Month\year, etc.). Add a chart, Time Interval on X -axes, and count on Y-axes. Then try to sort the Time interval in descending manner. The chart also changes, which should not. Please let me know if you could create a configuration as shown in the attached image.
