kernel: connectionX:0: detected conn error (1020)

edited Jun 30, 2022 5:13AM in Linux 4 comments

Applies To:

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure - Version N/A and later

Linux OS - Version Oracle Linux 7.0 and later

Symptoms:

Oracle Linux 7 instances running iSCSI may experience an issue where iscsid does not try to re-establish iSCSI connections after getting connection errors like "1020 - ISCSI_ERR_TCP_CONN_CLOSE: TCP connection closed".

There were no retrying messages at the time. When this happens, the corresponding iSCSI disks would report IO errors and go offline.
