Possible to update multiple job requisitions (Cancelled/Filled)?

Summary:

Is it possible to update (via HSDL upload) Job Requisitions that are in the Cancelled or Closed State?

We are needing to update 1000+ Job Requisitions with a DFF field. After submitting the HSDL it is showing that the upload was a "Success", but on checking the actual record it is still blank. Those in a Posted/Suspended State were updated without issue - it looks like the bulk are those that are Cancelled or Filled.

Is the only option to first upload to reopen the reqs (move them to a Unposted status). Then submit the DFF changes. Then a final upload to change them back to the original status? Is there a better alternative - and would reopening the requisitions cause any issues? (As we do not want our recruiters or hiring managers to be flooded with 1000+ requisitions)
