How to deal with large data in select single or Input Search ?

Summary:

We have a requirement where the customer wants a Single Select/Input Search Component on VBCS Page to Search As you type and select Item/Product Information from the Drop Down Pallet.

Content (required):

I am currently fetching the Item records through OIC.......which is approx. 16k-20k records(2.5mb of json payload response)

So I Need suggestion on which UI component will be best for such scenario and how to handle such large data in VBCS side for that component.

If there is any better approach then "fetching data from OIC" , Plz suggest.
