By when should we transition our alerts processing from BI Publisher to Alert Composer?

I understand that Oracle is recommending transitioning from BI Publisher alerts to Alert Composer, and that new features will only be supported on Alerts Composer. What is the recommended timeframe for switching to Alert Composer? Are there any key dates to be aware of? Will Oracle continue to support questions and troubleshooting relating to BI Publisher?
