Workforce Compensation: What's the exact difference between Reviewers and Secondary Hierarchy?

Summary: What exactly is the difference between Reviewers and Secondary Hierarchy when Source is Selected as a Formula.

Content (required): What exactly is the difference between Reviewers and Secondary Hierarchy when Source is Selected as a Formula and Not the Manager Type?

We have only 1 Manager Type which is Line Manager and can't create another Manager Type.

Using Formula, need to use Secondary Hierarchy/Reviewers for HRBPs to access employees' data for which they are HR Reps (by AOR).

Which one will be best to use - Reviewers or Secondary Hierarchy? So, would like to understand the difference.
