sales order backordered line cancelling

Summary:

we have a sales order with two lines

line one has 1.1 and 1.2. then we have line 2

we realised that line 1.2 was accidentally re sent/backordered. we do not need this line and want to cancel it, but due to the order being fulfilled are unable to do this.

is there any way we can cancel out this line?
