Has anyone had success with the "Image Slider" career site feature?

Image Slider from the Oracle Recruiting Career Site Configuration "Cookbook" does not display correctly

We would like to include the Image Slider from the Oracle Recruiting Career Site Configuration "Cookbook" on our new career site. However, the provided HTML and CSS are not rendering the photos in the expected way. We have resized our photos to all be the same size (1249x833px), added the HTML to our Splash Page with the specified padding and margins, and the CSS on the Theme tab, but there is a large black border.
