Salary default in Salary Section not working if multiple transactions on the same day

Salary default in Salary Section not working if multiple transactions on the same day.

For Example:

An Employee was in Hourly grade on 01-Nov-2022. We are adding change assignment on the same day (01-Nov-2022) & changing the position from hourly to Salaried in Employment section & when navigating to salary section we see the salary basis as "Hourly" instead of "Annually". When checked in debug mode, it is always fetching the previous row (Hourly). Is there any way we can identify the previous first row(01-Nov-2022) in salary section? We know that salary table is not effective dated.
