Is Organization Goals option really needed?

Summary:

From what I've seen, even when a Manager shares ( or better still, Assigns) a Goal with their Direct and Indirect Reports, it functions similar to an Organization Goal.

So do we really need the option "Share this goal with your organization" ? Well.. right. Organization goals can't be deleted but apart from that do they serve any unique function?
