How to report on a Text Formula Field in OTBI

Summary:

A new Text Formula field will not show up in Reports and analytics, oracle manual says this is not possible but I'm curious if anyone has found a way around it.

Content (required):

• I made a new field in Application Composter, as part of the Standard objects/Sales leads folder.
• This new field is a Text Formula type field and is performing some simple calculations based on the value fed to it by a drop down menu. That part all works fine.
• When I go into Reports and Analytics and I select create new analysis from the Sales - CRM Leads Assessment, my new field is not there to report on, though other field types show up fine.
