Required segment (field) on checklist DFF

I have configured a checklist DFF which is being used in a Journey. There are certain fields (segments) that I've marked as required on the checklist DFF however the journey user is able to submit the task without completing the required fields/segments. Any thoughts on how I can ensure the required fields are completed, prior to completing the taks?
