DFFs visibility not editable when set as "Required"

Per this following documentation, we have the ability to indicate which DFFs are visible/not visible on our Career Sites:
I am looking to make specific DFFs visible, but I am facing an issue where required DFFs are always visible on the External Career Site and cannot be made invisible. While certain DFFs are a requirement for our HR users to complete when creating the requisition, we do not always want them to be visible for our external candidates. Some of this information is required for internal purposes only and cannot be shared with external candidates. How can we make these DFFs invisible in HCM Design Studio per the above documentation?
