Manager change isn't happening for terminated employees

Summary: Hi All, We have a situation in which we are trying to add manager details for some terminated employees, from Person Management screen. Now , we are able to do the edit>correct, and submit the change , but even if its gets submitted , still manager details doesn't appear in the employment tab for that terminated employee.

When we are trying to do the same thing from Change Manager action, this terminated employee isn't appearing in the advance search. Not certain why this is happening.
