Issue with uploading word (.doc, .docx) attachment

Lately, we have been receiving complaints from some of our users that they are having issues with uploading word (.doc, .docx) attachments to candidate profile. After choosing a file and then clicking upload, the window with loading circle appears and it stays like that for far too long (20+ mins) and then nothing happens. Sometimes, after they refresh the site, the file is uploaded. But sometimes it's not.

They do not encounter this with other file format like jpeg or pdf.

Has anyone encountered this?
