Configuring initial status mappings

my custom added status doesn't appear as a default value

I created a req-specific candidate status called Employee Referral_Taleo. I want the Employee Referral_Taleo status to be the default requisition-specific candidate status whenever a candidate is referred to us through the employee referral portal. When I go to the configure initial status mappings page, the Employee Referral_Taleo status is not an option in the drop-down menu for the employee referral center. I've done research and can't find what I'm doing wrong. 

 

I want the functionality to work like this:

1. Employee submits an employee referral.

2. The recruiters see's that a candidate is an employee referral because the initial status says
