Default inventory organization based on selected item

Summary:

Is it possible to default the inventory organization field based on the item number that is selected when creating a new PO line? 

Currently, the PO lines are defaulted the inventory organization selected in the Configure Procurement Business Functions task. We have items that are specific to certain inventory organizations. We have investigated defaulting inventory organization based on Deliver-to location, which seems like a viable solution; however we would like to understand if it is possible to default the inventory organization based on the item that is selected on the PO line.
