How to Configure KDUMP On Linux to Collect Kernel Panic Data from A Hung/Crashed System

When a Linux system experiences a kernel panic and crashes unexpectedly or hangs, it can be configured to collect a crash dump of the system state and kernel calls leading up to the crash. The service that completes this process is called kdump, and the dump file it generates is called a vmcore.
