Our org API Security standard requires providers to support 2-way TLS (also known as mTLS or Mutual Authentication using X.509 certs) for service integrations over the internet carrying Restricted data.

This is an additional layer of security above and beyond the usual authentication of the consumer by token, userid/password etc. included in each service request.
