Can an Invoice image scan to an existing Invoice.

We import invoices from another solution and want to add scanned invoice images to those invoices.

Is there a way to load a scanned image onto an existing invoice without the scanning system automatically creating another invoice? User tried to scan additional information for existing invoice and the system created a duplicate invoice.
