How to manage WHO performs a task when the task performer = Area of Responsibility

When a tasks performer is equal to an AoR and there are multiple people within the AoR, how do you know which one will take ownership of the task?

My customer has an onboarding journey where a few task performers are AoRs and several people will be assigned to that AoR. When the task is triggered and a notification is sent to all the people within the AoR, there is no "claim" option (like in approvals) or something similar that enables a clear understanding of which AoR team member will be completing the task. The only thing I can think of is a daily report and offline assignment. Surely there is a better way and surely, this is not an issue just for us?
