Capturing constituents of total salary in Oracle HCM Cloud

edited Sep 5, 2020 12:33AM in Payroll and Global Payroll Interface (GPI) 12 comments

Summary

Customer would like to capture constituents of total salary. Would like to know the best approach for achieving this.

Content

We are looking to capture salary component information in Oracle HCM Cloud.

We know that:

1. We can capture total salary under 'Manage Salary'

2. By enabling salary components under 'Manage Salary', we can capture adjustment amounts (For.e.g. Merit Increase, Market Adjustment, etc).

But what we are looking to capture is the components that make up the total salary. For E.g. If total salary is 10,000 we would like capture Basic as 6000 and Housing Allowance as 4000 this making the sum as equal to total salary. Oracle strongly advocates not to use the delivered salary component feature mentioned above (point no.2) for this particular scenario.
