Account Edit Access to Territory Team members

Summary:

Only Territory owners are getting edit access but not team members. Based on below document, it suggests for inclusion of data security policy. But OOTB, they have read only access, then why do we need to add them to the team or add additional policies for visibility. isn't there a profile to turn on edit access.
