OCI : How to Install and Configure Performance Co-Pilot (PCP)

Linux OS - Version Oracle Linux 7.0 and later

Goal

This document explains how to install and configure Performance Co-Pilot (PCP) for analyzing system performance across one or more Oracle Linux installations. 

Solution

Installing PCP

1) Enable the following yum repositories on your system:

For OL7: ol7_latest and ol7_addons

For OL8: ol8_appstream and ol8_addons

For OL9: ol9_appstream and ol9_addons

2) Install the pcp-oracle-conf, pcp-system-tools and pcp-gui packages:

Oracle Linux 7:

$ yum install pcp-oracle-conf pcp-system-tools pcp-gui

Oracle Linux 8 and higher:

$ dnf install pcp-oracle-conf pcp-system-tools pcp-gui
