Alerts and BIP for Journey

Summary:

We have an issue where deferred Journey was not being assigned on the start date. The Action to trigger is Hire and the allocation criteria is "When the action record becomes effective".

In Points to Note, item no. 5 on page 5 of PER_Journeys_Alerts_Templates_Notifications_Journeys.pdf

"Your existing BIP notifications for journeys triggered based on employment actions will not be impacted. Event alerts won't be triggered if a journey is assigned based on an employment action. BIP notifications will continue to be used in this scenario."

Currently the journey with issue is using Alerts. We tried to use BIP and it is getting assigned. I just want to ask if we are using Hire as action to trigger it is expected to use BIP?
