Can I do a Parts Return of a serial controlled item?

Unable to record the Serial Number while taking customer returns

https://docs.oracle.com/en/cloud/saas/service-logistics/23b/fasul/route-customer-returns.html#s20070229 -- When a field technician is at customer site and recording a Return of Part via Work Order -> Charges and Estimates -> Parts or via EditSR -> Parts, I am unable to select the Serial Number of the product being returned.
But in https://docs.oracle.com/en/cloud/saas/service-logistics/23b/fasul/route-and-return-field-service-parts.html#s20070230 it looks like this is supported. Can someone clarify if capturing Serial Number is supported for Customer returned parts as well?
