Customized Email Domain Used in Email Settings - Requirements for OCI Migration
Summary:
There are certain requirements that must be met when using a customized email domain (domain other than the default @invalidemail.com), to avoid having emails bounced or treated as spam.
Content (required):
Please reference this knowledge topic: Oracle Support Document 2633027.1 (Required Configuration of Email Related Settings)
The document provides steps that your network IT team must take to ensure the custom domain being used meets the requirements. Doing so will avoid email issues.
These requirements have always been in place, but are imperative when moving to the OCI data center.
Even if the custom domain has been in place for some time without a known issue, when the zone is migrated to OCI the proper configuration will need to be put in place to prevent mail delivery issues. Any changes which need to be made to the configuration can be done prior to or immediately after the migration.
