Is there a way to pull in current assignments from Person Profile Real Time?

Hi All,
We have been attempting to pull only the current active assignment from the Workforce Profiles - Person Profiles Real Time subject area. However, every historical assignment also pulls into this analysis.
We have discovered that all Assignment End Dates are future-dated to year 4712. We've also determined that there is no difference in Person ID or Assignment ID across different assignments that would allow us to create a feeder report from a different subject area.
We have added filters for Assignment Start Date, Assignment End Date.
We've attempted a SQL prefix of SET VARIABLE PARAM_EFFECTIVE_DATE='@{AsOfDate}';
