Why do the tables in the standard payslip not line up?

Summary:

The tables on the standard payslip, specifically on page 2, don't line up. This looks awful.

Content (required):

The standard payslip template, second page, looks like the image below. I know we can customize the payslip template, and I guess that is often done to insert company logos at least, but surely the standard template shouldn't look like this? In demonstrations to clients, this creates a negative first impression and the payslip is an important output for employees.

  1. The left and right edges don't line up
  2. The "Hours" table has different coloration for no obvious reason, has more vertical spacing than other tables and is also a different width.
