if I link a Miscellaneous Receipt to the standard receipt, what will happen to standard receipt?

as per check the documnet How to Enter Bank Charges in Receivables ( Doc ID 2227088.1 )

we can use Miscellaneous Receipt to enter the bank charge, if we enter the standard receipt number in the Reference tab,

what will hapen to the standard receipt? has the balance changed?

Where else can I check the association between standard receipt and Miscellaneous Receipt?
