Unable to update inactive salesperson in salescredit(header section)

Summary:

Unable to update inactive salesperson in sales credit(header section). We need the ability to submit order revisions where Sales Credit is assigned to an Inactive Salesperson. However, per Oracle Support, there is no option to do this. 

Can you please let us know the standard process how to update inactive salesperson in the system
