What is best practice when creating the New Exportable Status

When creating the New Exportable Status, which 'Step' and 'Status' should be selected

We are currently implementing Taleo with HCM Cloud. When setting up the OOTB integration, I chose my candidate selection workflow, then chose the ‘Hire’ STEP and then the list of values for STATUS has the following values:

To be Hired

Hired – Internal

Hired – External

 

Which value should I chose?

Once the Offer has been accepted the Recruiter will update the Offer Step to ‘Offer Accepted’ which will then lead to the ‘Hire’ step, I am not sure which value to choose, and if I chose the incorrect value will it be ok to change this Status later?
