OCI: How To Stop And Disable "sssd" When Not In Use

Goal:

This document outlines the steps required to stop and disable sssd when it is not in use


Symptoms:

The following messages are seen in the /var/log/secure file:

Jul 13 08:21:02 hostname sshd[8780]: pam_sss(sshd:session): Request to sssd failed. Connection refused
Jul 13 08:21:02 hostname sshd[8780]: pam_sss(sshd:session): Request to sssd failed. Connection refused
Jul 13 08:21:50 hostname sshd[9006]: pam_sss(sshd:session): Request to sssd failed. Connection refused
Jul 13 08:21:50 hostname sudo: pam_sss(sudo:auth): Request to sssd failed. Connection refused
Jul 13 08:21:52 hostname sudo: pam_sss(sudo:auth): Request to sssd failed. Connection refused
Jul 13 08:21:53 hostname sshd[9006]: pam_sss(sshd:session): Request to sssd failed. Connection refused
Jul 13 08:22:03 hostname sshd[9076]: pam_sss(sshd:session): Request to sssd failed. Connection refused
Jul 13 08:22:03 hostname sshd[9076]: pam_sss(sshd:session): Request to sssd failed. Connection refused
