Creating a wait step so that an email can only be sent between certain hours on working business day

in Eloqua 4 comments

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to solve for an operational problem as I build our company's email nurture campaign. It seems like all topliner and Oracle docs/resources recommend using the Wait step to ensure that one can space out email deliveries (e.g. Wait 1 week between two emails). However, I find this to be limiting in addressing these challenges:

  • The Wait step begins "counting down" as soon as a contact moves into the step. If you take into account that a contact can be moved into the step at any given time, how do you prevent the Wait step from "expiring" at certain times/hours? For example, if Jenny Prospect is moved into the wait step on Monday at 2 am, a "1 day" wait step would expire at Tuesday at 2 am, which would mean Jenny Prospect will receive the second email at that time.
